Royal Madrid Football Club; people often call it Real Madrid. The club was founded on March 6, 1902, more than 121 years ago.

Early History of Real Madrid 

The first President of the Real Madrid was Julián Palacios; his tenure spanned from 1900 to 1902. The first major win that club achieved was against Athletic Bilbao in 1905, when Real Madrid won the Spanish Cup Final. A major win for the club only after three years of its inception.

In the early 1950s, Real Madrid player Miguel Malbo set up the Real Madrid Youth Academy for the training of young footballers. In Spanish, the academy is named La Fábrica (“The Factory”).

Socio System – 

There are 90,000 club members who get voting rights in return for paying 123 euros annually. To become a member, at least two present members must vouch for you; only then can you join this annual membership of Real Madrid.

Once a member has been part of the club for more than 50 years, they don’t have to pay for a yearly membership.

After every four years there is an election, and these Socio members will elect a president who will run the club. The president and the board of members cannot raise money through the stock market or in any other way.

They have to stick to television rights, matchdays, and merchandise to buy new players and manage the day-to-day expenses of the club.

The current president of Real Madrid is Florentino Perez, who is a rich Spanish businessman and worth over a billion euros.
