The Rise of Lionel Messi From Rosario to World Champion.

This is the story of the young footballer Lionel Messi, who changed the game.

Lionel Andres Messi plays forward for Argentina and wears the number 10 shirt. He was interested in playing football from a very young age, but his family did not know about his talent, but ultimately Messi succeeded in pursuing his career in Football.

The early life of Lionel Messi

Messi was born in Rosario, Argentina, on June 24, 1987. Rosario is a medium-sized city in Argentina. When he was a young boy, he played with his cousins. Later, when he was 8, he joined a club called Newell’s Old Boys in Rosario.

Even at a young age, it is clear that Messi is not growing at the same pace as other boys his age. When he was taken to the doctor, he was diagnosed with a hormone deficiency that restricted his growth. Messi’s parents, Jorge and Cecilia, were worried about their son. They started the treatment. But soon, they realized that it was impossible to afford such an expensive treatment; they were not earning that much.

Things were working in favor of Messi’s family. At 13, the young player was offered a contract from the famous soccer club FC Barcelona’s youth academy, La Masia. The club agreed to cover the player’s medical treatment. Messi’s family saw this as an opportunity and moved to Spain. Although it was a new country for him, he performed very well at La Masia and quickly got promoted to higher club ranks. The club was taking care of Messi and his family’s needs. Soon the 5 ft 7 in player started to make an impact at the club, and people began to compare him with Diego Maradona and other legends.

He played for Newell Old Boys for some time in his early days. Later, the player joined FC Barcelona. On May 1, 2005, he made his first appearance for the FC Barcelona club and became the youngest person to score a goal in club history. At that time, he was only 16 years old. He led the Under-20 Argentina team to the World Cup the same year.

The football legends say that Messi propelled FC Barcelona to new heights by winnin, the Spanish Super Cup, La Liga and the Champions League titles. It was the same year he was named FIFA player of the year and won the Ballon d’Or award.

Diego Maradona said this in an interview: Messi is similar to me. He is a leader and offers beautiful lessons to his young teammates. He has something different from other players.

The winning streak continued for many years. He won 11 Champions League titles during his stay at FC Barcelona. In 2012, he scored five goals in one Champions League game. He surpassed Cesar Rodriguez’s club record of 232 goals to become Barcelona’s all-time leading goal scorer.

In 2013, he was injured due to a hamstring issue. But in 2014, Messi became La Liga’s and the Champions League’s all-time leading goal scorer.

In 2015, Messi was horned with the 5th Ballon d’Or trophy, and currently, he has 7 Ballon d’Or.

The team was performing very well in the group stages, but ultimately the Argentina team lost and was out of the World Cup.

The following year, Argentina lost to Brazil in the Copa America semi-finals. It was a 2-0 loss, and the team was devastated. Due to this loss, he criticized the referees for their biased decision-making. Due to this, he was banned for three games by the South American Football Confederation.

Things changed for Messi and his fans in 2021. This was the year the Argentina team picked up their first major international trophy with Messi. The Argentina team won the Copa America. It was a 1-0 match. The goal was scored by Di Maria and assisted by De Paul. Messi silenced his critics with this stunning win.

In the 2022 World Cup, he was captain of the Argentina team, and they won the tournament after a very tough battle. The team faced a blow when they lost the first match against the Saudis, but ultimately they managed to win.
