Messi won the award, and the runners-up were Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema. Now, Messi has the same number of FIFA Best Awards as Cristiano Ronaldo.
Shortly after the Instagram story was posted, Messi fans started to criticize Benzema for the post he made. Lionel Messi also trolled Benzema by posting the World Cup win pictures on his Instagram story.

Moreover, Benzema’s teammate at Real Madrid, David Alaba, voted for Lionel Messi in the FIFA World Cup 2022. When people asked why he did this, he justified this move by saying that whatever he did was with joint consultation from my Austrian National Team.
Fans say that Messi deserves this award as he brought the World Cup home after 32 years and performed exceptionally well during the tournament.
Messi also scored 15 goals and had 14 assists for his club PSG before the World Cup 2022 campaign.
